With experience in PC's dating back to 1982, we have seen a lot of really great stuff happen in the computer industry, and we have seen a lot that is alarming. The sales of Dirt Cheap computers by some companies is a disturbing trend to us, not because of the price, but because of the quality, upgradability, and service you receive when you purchase a cheap computer. That's not to say that if you are only using your computer to email the grandkids, or to check the web from time to time that you need to spend a lot of money, but in this day and age, you get what you pay for. If you buy a $300 computer, you will buy another in a couple years, and another again, and another. Within 5 years, you have spent over $1000 and countless headaches, not to mention the software you purchased to "Get rid of all popups" and to "Protect against viruses" and "Clean your registry" and on and on. None of that software is legally transferrable to a new computer, regardless of the fact that you can't even use the old one. Spending a little more up front will usually get you a better computer that lasts longer, and you have less headaches, less breakdowns, and less talking to Habib in India about the problems you are having with your bargain computer.
